Mechanical sealings

Mechanical sealing is a packing insulating pump unit installed between its body and shaft in order to separate high- and low-pressure chambers. It is manufactured as a friction pair of two items faceplates, one of them is fixed to the shaft and another one – in machine body.
Usually mechanical sealing contains two wheels:
- non-spinning wheel placed in a case;
- spinning wheel installed on the machine shaft.

Mechanical sealing construction includes an elastic pressing element (spring, bellow, membrane), which forms an axially-movable unit (or pressing unit) together with a press-on bush and spinning sealing wheel. This unit allows one of the wheels to move axially.
Mentioned elastic element ensures a contact of faceplates mating spinning and non-spinning wheels without pressing force from environment pressure.
Heisskraft product range includes 3 types of mechanical sealings:
1) Well-balanced cartridge sealing CFS.
This kind of mechanical sealing is applied in vertical multistage pumps.
Liquid temperature: -30 … +180°С

Design features:
- Hydraulically unloaded friction pair for reduction of energy consumption;
- Product design is clogging and jamming resistant and prevent shaft from wearing off;
- Even load distribution;
- Sealing is suitable for high-pressure environment.

2) Rubber bellow Sealing MG
This kind of mechanical sealing is used for inline single stage centrifugal pumps as well as for close-coupled pumps.
Liquid temperature: -30 … +200°С;
Main features:
- Reduction of friction and pump capacity loss;
- Decrease in shaft surface wear-out rate;
- Minimization or total elimination of pumping liquid leakages;
- Possibility of equipment exploitation in high-pressure and aggressive environment.

3) Mechanical sealings for sewage pumps
These mechanical sealings are intended for installation in submersible drain and sewage pumps.

Selection of mechanical sealing depends on a great number of factors, such as:
- Pumping liquid,
- Liquid working temperature,
- Pressure in the place of sealing,
- Rotation speed,
- Shaft diameter.
